West Newbury Police Arrest Man on Felony Charges for Stealing a Motor Vehicle
WEST NEWBURY — Chief Art Reed reports that the West Newbury Police Department arrested a man for allegedly stealing a motor vehicle from a resident’s home early this morning.
At approximately 8 a.m., Officer Danielle Burrill and Reserve Officer Michael Silvestro responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a residence on Gardner Street. The victim’s wallet and personal belongings were also in the car.
Soon after, the victim received a report that the credit card was fraudulently used at a Newburyport pharmacy, 25 Storey Ave. Both officers responded to the store, where they reviewed surveillance footage. Upon leaving the pharmacy, the officers passed the stolen motor vehicle exiting the parking lot, where officers conducted a motor vehicle felony stop.
Subsequently, PATRICK KENNEY, AGE 31, OF SALISBURY was arrested and charged with:
- Breaking and Entering (Felony)
- Stealing a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
- Receiving Stolen Property (Felony)
KENNEY is being held at Middleton House of Correction pending his arraignment.
“I’d like to thank both officers for their work on this case today,” Chief Reed said. “Their speed and attentiveness allowed for a quick apprehension of this suspect.”
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
